Welcome To The Ultimate Drawing Course For Beginners
Hi, I'm Vic. I want to say, "Welcome, and congratulations on making an investment in yourself.” You just took a big step towards learning to draw. You see, I have always dreamed of becoming an artist. Since I was a little boy, probably about 20 years ago. I'm just kidding. I have always loved drawing, and so I drew all of the time. I still remember my fourth-grade teacher being blown away by my drawings. And that's probably my firstmemory of when I gained confidence in drawing and so I've been drawing ever since. Fast forward to high school, I enrolled in art classes and was quickly placed in Advanced Art classes. I just remember being so intimidated because I was the youngest student in this class. But I stuck with it and I learned so much! And I'm so glad I did.
I just remember wanting to draw like Charles Schulz and when I saw the animated movie, The Secret of Nimh, my desire to draw became stronger.
I had planned on going to art school but as it usually happens, that dream was derailed by adults close to me. My counselor, teachers, friends, and even some family members told me I would just become a starving artist and should probably aim for another career. I'm sure they meant well, I suppose. Not sure of what I wanted to do though, I joined the military and put my art on the back burner.
I did continue to draw, because you see, that dream of becoming an artist was given to me and through the years, I tried ignoring it. I started working in various industries that didn't have anything to do with art. But that passion to constantly draw and create kept tugging at me. My heart just wouldn't let me ignore it any further. So I did something about it.
In 2016, after almost a decade of working in education as a substitute teacher and then as a teacher, I started taking art classes at the local community college. I was teaching art during the day while taking both art classes and teacher certification classes at night. So I quickly burned out. That just wasn't my life. So, I resigned from teaching and decided to become a full-time artist. I leaned into art school and went full out, enrolling in as many classes as I could, and spending countless hours in the art studio. Now over the years, I studied not only by taking drawing and painting classes, I devoured anything that had to do with art. I started watching YouTube videos, accumulated a library of books on drawing and art, invested in art videos from various artists, and studied any art technique that would improve my drawing and my art, in general. I spent many hours drawing and practicing the techniques that would get me the best and fastest results. As a result, I just got better at drawing and now I want you to also do that. You see, I have found that I love drawing but more importantly, I love sharing what I've learned. So, right now I want you to imagine yourself creating the beautiful drawings and artwork you've always dreamed about but thought that maybe you wouldn't be able to. Now the only thing standing between you and achieving those drawings is having the proper instruction and practice. I'm quite sure that at the end of this course, you will be better at drawing. You see I designed this course to work for everyone. If you can write, you can draw. Even if you feel like you can't even draw a stick figure. I believe anyone can draw. Drawing is a skill that is learned and developed. Now in this course, you'll learn drawing techniques from the old masters that I have learned through the years in formal training and from watching artists that I consider to be living masters. The course will start you with the very basics - the fundamentals. Now these fundamentals will lay the foundation. You will learn one-point, two-point, and three point perspectives. You will learn about composition, learning about the golden rules of composition that will result in viewers being fixated on your drawings. I will teach you techniques to create drawings that draw the viewers' attention to desired focal points in your drawings. You will also learn about the “holy grail” of drawing - value.
After learning the fundamentals and techniques, we'll dive right into drawing hands and eyes. Oh yeah, as an added bonus, you'll get an additional lesson on drawing faces. Now by the end of this course, you will have learned and applied a step-by-step approach to drawing. One of the best ways to do that is with practice, which will allow you to draw anything youwant.
